Galaxy Masquerade Jury 2019

Name/Nickname:  Ashley Borst (Asha Cosplay) Cosplayer since: 2010 (Bellatrix Lestrange) Who is Ashley Borst? My name is Ashley, aka Asha Cosplay, and you might recognize me from the last edition of Imagicon, when I organized this cosplay contest and presented the theater program together with Jacco. This time I’ll hand the reins over to Rosanne and I will be a jury member for the Galaxy Masquerade! I’ve been cosplaying for 6 years now and my repertoire mainly includes villains, but I’ve recently started to incorporate superheroes and mythological/fantasy characters as well. As an entertainer I love to be on stage and perform, which is why I’ve already participated in several cosplay competitions. So I know how you’ll feel when you’re out on that stage. ;-) My main focus during the Galaxy Masquerade will be on both originality and effectiveness of the acts, which techniques were used to make the costumes. How well do you play your character during an act and what story are you telling the audience? What skills and fabrics did you use to create a costume that makes it look like it came straight out of your character’s world? I also like to know what someone has learned from working on his/her cosplay! I’m very curious to see all those wonderful cosplays and acts you’re going to show! See ya on January 26!
