So you think you can cosplay? You think you got what we're looking for? Do you always get compliments from other people about how much your cosplay looks like the original? Are people stunned when you walk by and tell you you look exactly like that one character from Game of Thrones, Star Wars or Supernatural? Or maybe you're an absolute pro when it comes to making outfits and/or props and you'd love to show them (or have them shown off)? Is your answer a resounding 'YES' to one or more of these questions, you are who Imagicon's looking for! So dust off those props, take your wigs out of the closet, turn yourself into your favorite character... and then sit down behind your computer to fill out the form and compete! For people who prefer not to participate in a contest, but still want to show off their cosplay: Join the Masquerade Parade! On this page you can also look at photos that were taken at both the contest and the Parade in 2016. BEWARE! As said Imagicon is a convention that focuses mainly on Science Fiction, Comics, Fantasy and Horror. The focus of our competition will be on cosplays that have their roots in one of these four genres. Although there certainly is room for anime-based cosplays, our preference will always lie with costumes that come from these genres. Rules and conditions 2019 The cosplay contest consists of a fashion show (walk-on) and acts (skits). Both solo acts and groups are welcome. Each entry counts as one ‘participant’.  Please read the rules carefully to see in which category your entry belongs. A free locker room is available for all participants of the Galaxy Masquerade in order for them to change before the contest starts. For more information about the prizes: Jump down! A.) General (applies to Fashion Show & Acts): 1.) Participants are expected to be present backstage at least one hour before the pre-judging starts. The exact time of the pre-judging will be sent by email before December 1, 2018. 2.) Participants may submit a photograph, image and/or music to be used during their performance. The file(s) must be ‘ready for use’. On the day of the contest we won’t have the time nor the equipment to make any alterations to the files. 3.) Participants are allowed to use ‘props’ (attributes) during their performance. * All props must comply with the rules as described in Imagicon’s Terms & Conditions (section 8: “Cosplay & Attributes”). * Props made entirely out of metal are only allowed on stage after an inspection upon entry to ensure everyone’s safety. * Props can be placed backstage at your own risk at the start of the day. Imagicon is not liable for any damage to stored props. 4.) The use of fire-hazardous materials like fireworks is not permitted. 5.) The use of liquids is not permitted. 6.) All material will remain in the possession of the Imagicon Foundation. B.) Fashion Show (walk-on): 1.) All participants (pairs count as one participant) are required to register in advance. * There is room for fifteen (15) participants. After this date participants on the waiting list will no longer be contacted. 2.) Participants are allowed a maximum of one minute for the walk-on. 3.)
